Well-worn shoes

It’s tough to step into well-worn shoes, metaphorically speaking. A history has been compiled, shaped and valued by others. If the person inhabiting them has been beloved, even greater the challenge and expectations for the new sole-wearer.

New miles to trod beckon me forward. I will cinch those laces as best I can and hope for a decent fit – a stepping in and taking over that kicks up little dust and leaves no bad marks. If the pair ends up snug and useful, I will be thankful for the chance. And feel blessed. Very blessed.
