Illuminate:

throw light on, cast light upon…
to rid ourselves of darkness
those shadows of trauma past
locked into the damaged parts of us

like taut and constricted tissue
broken up only by a skillful hand
a Master surgeon

who dispels the dark places
casting light on those answers we seek
the whys of life that can torment us
if we linger too long on bitter thoughts

maybe some paths are made to stumble along
until we can lift our eyes higher
to a place where darkness fades and trust increases
where bitterness dies and hope reigns
that place…
