Joy

A weary world rejoices…

We don’t get to rejoice a lot in life.
It is usually the grand accomplishments after tons of hard work
or suffering
or uncertainty
that call for rejoicing.

The small miracles.
Or big.

We had a pretty good-sized one at the hospital this Christmas.
A young man who didn’t have much hope of surviving has taken a huge turn back to life.
And all of us are rejoicing.
The smiles on the faces of his parents and family members convey the emotion.

Joy. In its purest form.

There are lots of theories about where miracles come from. Or if they even exist.
Personally, I’ve seen too many not to believe –
in a God who is often unfathomable but always good.

A virgin birth is pretty miraculous –
the idea of God taking on flesh for redemptive purposes.

Maybe something to revisit
for the weary of heart this Christmas…

Wishing everyone true joy this holiday season!

  1. Beautiful, Mona. John is speaking on “joy” this Sunday, I will have him read this. Let earth receive her King.
