Impressions

photo copy 4Museums remind me there is so much life beyond my corner of the world – past, present, future. The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston has Monets, Renoirs and Von Goghs. I love the Impressionists. They tempt me to dive into their color and lose myself in whimsical dalliance, oblivious to everyday realities. A picture out of time. Fleeting moments. Otherworldly beauty. Escape.

The inner eye knows we were created for more than these frail bodies and struggling psyches. We long for hope realized… restoration… wholeness… a resurrection.

It is April in the Pacific Northwest, the season of Lent. Preparation. Nature shouts its themes – from deathly cold winter to new life springing up – the message is all around us. Don’t give up. Wait for it. Have faith. It’s as real as the signs God has given us.

He bids us – trust in Me…
